There are also other options like a map to show you where the Cornelia Library is located, and upcoming activities that will be located at the library. The Cornelia Library is located near the heart of downtown Cornelia and houses more than 30,000 items available for circulation. A small city park immediately behind the library provides a great spot for a picnic under the trees. The library offers the use of computer terminals, free to the public, for word processing and/or internet searching. There are also computers in the children’s section of the library with numerous educational games. Children’s Storytime is every Thursday at 10 a.m. with games, music, crafts, and stories aimed at children preschool and younger. An annual Summer Reading Program offers prizes as reading incentives, live performers and numerous fun and educational activities for children 16 and younger. Books, including best-sellers, Christian fiction, westerns, and large print; current magazines and newspapers; DVDs, and books on CD and cassette are available for a two-week check-out period. There is a daily used book sale with mass market paperbacks at 50 cents each and hardbacks less than $5. Free magazines and books are also available daily. Other services the library offers include photocopying, faxing, and printing, for nominal fees. The H. M. Stewart Sr. Community Room is available for reservation to civic or church groups, business meetings, seminars, workshops, government agencies, non-profit agencies, clubs and conferences. A small utilities fee is required of most groups.
