Tallulah Gorge offers many hiking trails, biking trails, campsites, and swimming. A parking fee of $4 is required throughout the park. The North Rim Trail is .75 miles one way and features five overlooks with views of the gorge. The South Rim Trail is .75 miles one way and is accessed by the park’s day-use area. Hurricane Falls Suspension Bridge Loop is 3 miles. It crosses the Hurricane Falls Suspension Bridge over Hurricane Falls. Sliding Rock and Hurricane Falls Trail is 2.5 miles and accesses the gorge floor. Hikers follow the stairs down to the gorge floor then pick their own path, passing Oceana Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, a popular swimming area. Permits are obtained at the interpretive center. Stoneplace Trail and High Bluff Loop are 5 miles. Stoneplace Trail is a multi-use trail for hikers and mountain bikers. The trail is also used for access to backcountry camping. Stoneplace Trail accesses High Bluff Loop a 1.5 mile loop. A permit is required to access these trails. Shortline Trail is 3 miles. A multi-use paved trail that is handicapped accessible. A suspension bridge allows hikers and bikers to cross the Tallulah River to complete the loop on Terrora Circle. Terrora Trail is one mile. Trail starts at the old jail in the park’s day-use area on Terrora Circle . Across the bridge, the day-use area is on the left, while one-quarter mile farther is the entrance road to the interpretive center on the right, which is also the head of most trails there. |
